Biography

Dr Larissa Suzuki is a passionate computer scientist, chartered engineer, book author, and inventor. She currently works as a Director of Product Management (Industrialising ML on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) at Oracle. Her continuing academic work is based at UCL where she serves as an Hon. Associate Professor in Computer Science. She was formerly a Head of Data Science for Founders4Schools, had a senior appointment in London Government and led a project in the European Commission. Prior to that she worked at ARUP, IBM, University Labs (UCL, MIT, Lancaster, USP), and the Bank of Brazil. She has received awards from Google, Intel, Microsoft, MIT, Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation, McKinsey & Co among others for her contributions to industry and international science. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a reviewer of grants of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and a judge of the ACM Global Research Competition. Since 2006 she's been actively working towards increasing the representation of women in CS and Engineering, also as an Ambassador of the Queen Elizabeth’s Prize for Engineering.
